Cooder Graw @ Big Texas Dance Hall 11-16-06

I managed to get my sister K and Niece C to go out tonight and see Cooder Graw with me in Webster. ~woohoo~ I thought one would cancel if the other found out they were going but it didn't happen so I was very happyand pleased that they managed to act like adults and get over each other's attitude. I think it helped the situation by the fact that a stranger was buying our drinks and it took me 9 drinks (combined, not 9 for me) to figure out who it was that was buying them. The only thing that meant was that I had to dance with him since Sister K and Niece C won't dance. Sister K said the man looked like Gary P. Nunn but I didn't see it...ok, maybe it was the hat. The crowd was sparse as usual @ Big Texas. No advertising means no one shows up and if you don't play the music on the local stations, people don't know who it is and won't pay money to hear someone they've never heard of. If this place ever advertises, it's not regular enough or if they advertise on the radio, they need to find another station because everyone knows that Houston radio sucks. Houston has many radio stations and they all play the same crap over and over again all day long. If you're a musician in Houston, move to Austin. You'll never get any airplay in this town. They believe that Clear Channel is the best thing around and I know and well as many others, CLEAR CHANNEL SUCKS!!! (Thank you for listening to my rant. Now back to Cooder Graw.) A good time was had by all and as usual, Cooder Graw put on a good show. It's too bad about them. They'll be breaking up at the end of the year. If you're a fan, try to go out and see them.
