Jesse on Wednesday~Cooder Graw on Saturday
Wednesday, July 26th...Friend C, Sister K and I went to Pub Fiction http://www.pubfiction.com/to see Jesse Dayton. www.jessedayton.com Friend C is moving to Switzerland (yes, another COUNTRY) and this was one last celebration before she left. Actually we went out as much as possible until the day she headed to NYC to visit friends there before she left the country. The place was packed but a good time was had by all. There are TV screens everywhere...kinda reminds me of a sports bar with a band playing if you can imagine. I know the concept is strange but it was a free show, the vodka was flowing (I know this personally because Friend C & I drank way too many Vodka/Cranberry drinks) and the only beer they were serving was Miller since it was their sponsor. Ok...now if Jesse D's sponsor is Jim Beam, why did the bar need a sponsor...to pay for the band or what? I guess if I worked for a band or in a bar I might understand this... Anyway, Jesse put on a good show. Eventhough he seems to be kinda stuck on himself, I let it slide this time. I might not be going to see him as much as before since he totally ignored my request to say a word or two to my friend since she was leaving the country. I'm sure he'd say good riddance. Not that I care...
Saturday, July 29th-Sister K and I went to the thriving metropolis of Bacliff to a anniversary party for Friends D & B. It was their 10th anniversary and they had the bunch from Cooder Graw come out to the local VFW hall there to play for them. It was a private party so the regular "Cooder" crowd wasn't in attendance and it was mostly their family there to celebrate. There was an open bar and you could drink as much as you wanted...ha...I didn't drink a drop but Sister K had a beer or four. I didn't feel like drinking for various reasons but the main reason was that I didn't want to spoil their party by my drunken antics and there was plenty of reason for me to get drunk and show my ass but I refrained from doing so. If you were there, you know what I mean... A good time was had by all... I heard about the so-called Motel Hell rooms that the crew had...blacklights and all in every room. I bet that made for late night entertainment...
